Daewoong Pharmaceutical (President Lee Jong Wook) announced that Ursa had obtained the GH Mark (Goods of Health) from the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 2nd of July. On the 4th, Daewoong Pharmaceutical also reported that Albis, an antiulcer drug, obtained the GH mark at the end of June. 

Ursa and Albis have passed through a production process screening and plant examination, and are recognized for their safety and excellence. It is very rare for medicines to get quality certification. 

Thanks to this certification, Ursa and Albis can use the GH certification mark in the products, and can also receive favorable treatment in quality assessment by the government, as well as assistance in investment attraction and licensing procedures. 

Ursa (UCDA component) a hepatic function medicine, was selected as a ‘2010 global brand’ by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. Currently, Ursa holds the 3rd largest share of the world market for hepatic function medicines, as it exports about 16 million dollars worth annually to more than 10 countries, including Japan, China, and India.

Albis is also a blockbuster product that Ursa manufactured with its own technology, and has been shown to be effective in treating gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and NSAIDS generated tumor.

Choi Soo Jin, director of the Medicine Research Institute of Daewoong Pharmaceutical, remarked that “medicines have such high requirements in terms of quality and safety that it is hard to get certification. In particular, Ursa will see great benefits from the GH Mark, as it will heighten its reliability as a top-quality medicine in overseas markets.”

The GH Mark system is designed to scientifically and reasonably certify the safety and quality of products closely related to national health, including foods, medicines, cosmetics and medical devices. Not only does it provide accurate information to consumers, but it also gives motivation and a differentiated product image to create brand value. Public health goods with good sales and quality as well as customer reliability are the objects of selection.
